Field Guide Designs

https://fieldguidedesigns.com/

Mandy Mohler, a Montana artist, is the creative force behind Field Guide Designs. Her artistic journey began with a unique vision: arranging and photographing personal artifacts to create abstract portraits of people. Each portrait is a fascinating blend of art and anthropology.

As her passion for capturing the essence of individuals evolved, so did her work. She now skillfully crafts "landmark bandanas," which feature meticulously selected plants and animals, creating abstract portraits of iconic places. These bandanas serve as a symbolic tribute to the rugged American West, where beauty and utility go hand in hand. Not only are they decorative and beautiful, but they also double as useful adventure tools.

In addition to bandanas, Mandy also creates stickers featuring the same intricate plant and animal designs, making Field Guide Designs the perfect choice for wilderness enthusiasts and nostalgia lovers.

Her work can be found in Pottery Barn and has been featured the following places: Sunset Magazine, Huckberry, ORIGIN Magazine, Touch of Modern, NPR, Kootenai Mountain Culture Magazine, the Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana and the Field Guide Hotel in Stowe, Vermont.

Good Stuff Botanicals

https://thegoodstuffbotanicals.com/

Good Stuff Botanical started out of necessity in 2012. Michael Johnson, co-founder & concocter at The Good Stuff Botanicals, developed psoriasis in his early 20's. By the time he met his wife, he had tried everything to soothe and repair his skin. Michael was about ready to throw in the towel and accept his skin fate when they started hitting their personal library, found a family recipe, and began researching. Two years of trial and error went by when they finally developed Gypsy Cream. The cream was just too good to be kept a secret, so they quit their day jobs and started a business in hopes to relieve others’ skin woes.

Fast forward to the present, The Good Stuff Botanicals team has expanded into a cute little brick-and-mortar cabin in the village of Bigfork, where Maranda grew up. They are in over 130 retailers and counting and have been featured in some of the biggest publications in the world. They are still ridiculously invested in making The Good Stuff the BEST it can be. They still hike into the mountains with their 2 children and do all the wildcrafting for the business while developing new products and lending a hand in their community.

5 Sparrows Brand Drink Mixes

https://5sparrowsbrand.com/

At 5 Sparrows we believe in the importance of treating yourself. But we’re also partial to feeling good, too. We like sweets, but not when they sabotage our health. Like you, we were frustrated by the lack of good tasting beverages that weren't packed with sugar or filled with artificial junk. So, one curious barista got to work to create drinks that tasted great without the sugar, and 5 Sparrows was born.

Sarah Angst Art

https://sarahangstart.com/

Sarah Angst Cards began in 2011 with a decision to create affordable reproductions of her bright & bold, hand painted linocuts. Customers were so drawn to her beautiful imagery that greeting cards seemed like the perfect medium to share her art with a vast audience - without being on the road.

With compliments from buyers like, “We buy them by the handful!”, she knew her choice to create greeting cards was the right one. People from all walks of life find special designs they want to give, keep, or frame.

Most of Sarah’s original pieces are small and quaint, displaying the effortless beauty in everyday subject matter. They reflect her love of nature, her passion for color, and her sense of humor.

“My approach to art forces me to simplify things; to find the essence of my subject and display it with line and color. With so many distractions in life, it is soothing to enjoy something simple and serene, that grabs your attention, but also reminds you to slow down and enjoy the beauty in life.

I like creating pieces that seem familiar to people; that help remind them of fond memories from their own lives. When I finish a piece and it has a timeless nostalgic quality, my hope is that feeling will resonate with others as well.

I have always loved creating art - ever since I was a little girl. Putting elements together until they look and feel just right is very rewarding. Having others respond so positively to what I’ve created is even better.”

*From her originals, Angst creates a wide array of products featuring her images, including greeting cards, jewelry, ornaments, and giclée reproductions. All Sarah Angst Art is Made in the USA - Created & Reproduced in Bozeman, Montana*

Badrock Metalworks Jewelry

https://badrockmetalworks.com/

Michelle is the woman behind Bad Rock Metalworks, located in Columbia Falls, MT at the mouth of the Bad Rock Canyon which leads into Glacier National Park.

"My work began as a creative outlet, fueled by a love of working with my two hands and an insatiable appetite for one of a kind jewelry and stones. Since that time, it has morphed into a small business that I am so happy to be able to share with you. My pieces are eclectic, bold, and crafted to last. I use silver, gold, brass, and a large range of natural stones that are ethically sourced. I enjoy giving a new life to what is found in the earth. My inspiration and style comes from the cyclical nature of the seasons that we find ourselves in here in Northwest Montana. I find that most things are cyclical and seasonal, and whatever season of life we are in, there are pieces that represent that."

This Mother's Day, go beyond the traditional gifts and opt for something truly memorable and meaningful. By choosing gifts made in Montana, you're not only honoring your mom but also supporting the talented artisans, craftsmen, and small businesses that make the Treasure State unique. Let's celebrate moms everywhere and show them how much they're cherished, appreciated, and loved. Happy Mother's Day!
