Usually, the words “salted caramel” would send anyone watching their sugar intake running for the hills.

The phrase brings to mind a sticky, sweet, sugar-packed additive that’s sure to hijack your health and leave you feeling awful.

Even worse, most salted caramel products on the market today are packed with calories! A single tablespoon of industry-leading, traditional salted caramel coffee syrup contains 60 calories, 16 grams of net carbs, and 14 grams of sugar, for example!

If you get a wild hair and opt for “hard caramel” sauce, like many coffee shops use in their drinks, you can expect 110 calories, 25 grams of carbs, and 22 grams of sugar!

How’s that for a sugar bomb?

Fortunately, we found a way to recreate salted caramel, so it offers all the flavor you love without any of the sugar shakes or crashes.

In fact, our sugar-free salted caramel mix is the base of this delicious, mouthwatering, keto-friendly salted caramel macchiato.

In the Italian tradition, a macchiato is an espresso with a dash of milk or foam. Because most people don’t have an at-home espresso machine, though, we made this version a little more DIY friendly.

Here’s how to make your own:
