November is American Diabetes Month. In honor of this important event, we’ve decided to feature a few of our favorite diabetic-friendly coffee creamers.
According to the American Diabetes Association, more than 37.3 million Americans (about 11.3% of the population) had diabetes in 2019. Of these 37.3 million people, an estimated 8.5 million were undiagnosed.
Each year, 1.4 million Americans are diagnosed with diabetes. When they are, they have to learn to live with the condition. Some of the most critical adjustments diabetic people can make involve their diet and lifestyle.
People with diabetes can live healthy, fulfilling lives with proper health-conscious food and drink choices.
Here at 5 Sparrows, we like to support our customers as they become heroes in their own stories. With that in mind, here are our favorite warming, fall-inspired, diabetic-friendly coffee drinks for anyone living with or on the borderline of diabetes.

Diabetic Friendly White Mocha
To make yours, combine the following ingredients:
- 8 oz hot coffee.
- 1 tablespoon 5 Sparrows Brand Sugar-free White Chocolate.
Stir the ingredients together well in your favorite cup, and enjoy immediately. If you’re feeling extra fancy, consider topping yours with some sugar-free whipped cream.
Diabetic Friendly Salted Caramel Macchiato
In the Italian tradition, a macchiato is an espresso with a dash of milk or foam. Because most people don’t have an at-home espresso machine, though, we made this version a little more DIY friendly.
Here’s how to make your own:
- 8 oz. hot coffee
- 1 tablespoon 5 Sparrows Brand Salted Caramel
Combine the ingredients in your favorite cup and mix well with a long-handled spoon. Then, sip and enjoy knowing that the finished product only has 25 calories, 0 grams of trans fat, 2 grams of net carbs, and NO SUGAR!

Diabetic-Friendly Cookies & Cream Coffee
Here’s how to make one of our favorite warming winter drinks:
- 8 oz hot coffee

- 1 tablespoon 5 Sparrows Brand Sugar-Free Dark Cocoa
Combine the ingredients in your favorite cup or mug, stirring with a long-handled spoon to mix well. Enjoy immediately. Without sugar-free whipped cream or another topping, each cup of this tasty drink only has 50 calories, 4.5 grams of net carbs, and NO sugar or trans fat.
Diabetic-Friendly Hazelnut Mocha
Here’s how to make this delicious drink:
- Brew 8 ounces of Hazelnut-flavored coffee.
