Lower Sugar Strawberry Smoothie
Nothing quite says summer like a strawberry smoothie. Pink, refreshing, and delightfully light on the taste buds, strawberry screams of warm days, and fun to come. Unfortunately, most traditional strawberry smoothie varieties are packed with sugar, and won’t do your diet or health goals any favors.
Until now!
Like the good summer and sunshine and strawberry lovers we are, the team here at 5 Sparrows reinvented the strawberry smoothie to make it a little more health-friendly, without sacrificing any of the taste of deliciousness.
Made with our sugar-free frappe and smoothie base and fresh or frozen strawberries, this delicious summer drink is refreshing and subtly sweet.
Whip one up for yourself or the kids or serve it as a delicious, fun cocktail alternative for a summer party!
Ingredients
- 4 oz. ice (½ cup).
- ½ cup frozen sliced unsweetened strawberries.
- 3 tbsp. 5 Sparrows Frappe & Smoothie Base.
- 4 oz. unsweetened coconut milk.
Directions
- In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth.
- To make this treat extra-special, top it with our Sugar-Free Whipped Cream and garnish with a few sliced, fresh strawberries. You can also play with the recipe to test adding other fresh or frozen berries, or substituting coconut milk for another popular milk alternative, like oat or almond milk.
- We also recommend taking another fun spin on this recipe and freezing this smoothie in popsicle molds. A perfect treat for kids and adults alike, smoothie pops are a great way to cool off on a hot summer’s day.
